Massachusetts police using MorphoTrak biometric identification system

Massachusetts State Police (MASP) have selected MorphoTrak to provide it with MorphoBIS, its next generation biometric identification system.

MorphoBIS provides real-time identification of suspects and criminals, integrating fingerprints and palm prints, providing high-volume searches by federal, state, and municipal agencies.

“This ‘future-proofed’ solution permits the rapid integration of new biometric modalities and transaction types,” said Daniel Vassy, President and CEO of MorphoTrak. “We are excited to create a strong, lasting partnership with MASP, starting with the full conversion of existing biometric data.”

As the supplier of the biometric identification systems in five neighboring states, MorphoTrak is poised to offer and implement future interoperability where various states on the eastern coast could cross search each other, leading to more identifications and convictions.

Morpho’s biometric matching technology is ranked #1 by the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) for lights-out latent fingerprint accuracy.

In late September, Biometric Update reported on the NYPD adopting MorphoTrak’s MorphoBIS.

MorphoTrak provides biometric and identity management solutions to the U.S. and Canadian markets and reports to its global parent Morpho (Safran Group),
an international company with offices worldwide.
